Donna Mayo - Featured Artist May/June 2023

Donna Taylor Mayo intentionally chose kiln formed glass as it captured her imagination, and it brought something fresh to glass lovers. Donna has dabbled in many mediums--sculpture has given her present endeavor in the art world its true uniqueness. Initially surrounded by the tropics, she now resides in the PNW, where she's

inspired by the outdoors. Each piece of glass art begins as a clay sculpture, taken directly from natural discoveries or themes reflecting her contemporary symbolic style. With minimal impact on the environment, she uses eco-friendly materials including the glass scraps collected from local window companies that could otherwise end up in landfills. In anticipation of the grey giving way to the glorious, Donna has been working on new bees, butterflies and the flora they are attracted to. Gardens and woodsy paths are the inspiration.
